Interactive Curriculum STEAM and Read Program
We appreciate you choosing to have your child(ren) participate in the Steam and Read Program to be held at Union Baptist Church. The program will include 1st and 3rd Sundays (9:45-11:45), Tuesdays, and Thursdays (2:45-5:30). The start date of the Fall session is September through March .

Instructional Framework
Reading Leaps (Primary Learners) focuses on individualized one-on-one literacy instruction for our primary scholars
SROS Fusion Learning Groups(K-8) focuses literacy skills will be integrated across the content for our scholars to increase and strengthen their vocabulary, reading fluency, reading comprehension, and writing skills
Peer Tutoring/SPARK (Scholars Preparing and Acquiring Readiness and Knowledge) Sessions (9-12) focuses on scholars’ preparation for post-secondary life through career and college readiness exploration and support by peers to improve their performance in an academic area such as math, English, Science, and Social Studies/History
STEAM focuses on integrating the ARTS into content that scholars learn, and exposes them to exploratory learning through Science, Technology, Engineering, the ARTS, and Mathematics. STEAM deepens their creativity and increases their problem-solving skills
The ARTS focuses on providing scholars with opportunities to explore, interact, and engage in creative, fine and cultural arts programming to spark their interests and awareness

Tutoring : provides support to improve scholar performance in the academic areas of Mathematics and Reading
SEL: Social and Emotional Learning program promotes positive student behaviors that lead to greater academic success, a greater connection to school and improved school climate. It focuses on

Great Leaps: (Primary Learners) focuses on individualized one-on-one literacy instruction for our primary scholars
Parent Engagement
Fostering Parent and Educator relationships are vital to student success. Parent Connection Sessions are designed to provide parents with the tools needed to support their child’s education along with cultivating the parent’s personal goals. Pre and post assessments will be administered to ensure the topics important to parents are discussed.
